Sylvester Wong Vice President, Asia Strategy Cities and TODs, Southeast Asia, AECOM

Sylvester Wong is a 20-year veteran of multidisciplinary planning practice across the globe with a focus on city clusters across the Asia Pacific region.

He left his native San Francisco Bay Area for Asia at the start of the millennium after Architecture and Urban City Planning degrees at UC Berkeley, focusing on strategizing competitive economies, designing liveable smart resilient cities, incubating huge scale interventions, integrated infrastructure, and sustainable development.


Formerly with SOM, HOK, Woods Bagot and Gensler, he is now Vice President at AECOM with a regional mission to get cities ready for the future – reframing challenges of urbanization to provide innovative and visionary solutions.

His landmark work ranges from the Beijing Finance Street to the Shanghai Riverfront, from Hong Kong’s Central Waterfront to Singapore’s ITE campus, Economic Cities of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Airport City of Mumbai and technology parks of Bangalore, Eastern Economic corridor of Thailand, Saigon West, and Putrajaya; and in the Philippines, Clark City and broader advisory for the Bases Conversion Development Authority.
